. . .
Just making a start on the nursery before the New Year begins – it is incredible to think about all the different, unique, and interesting creatures that God has made! Some of the animals might be a little unusual… so here are some fun facts 🙂
Alligators can be distinguished from crocodiles in a few ways. They have a wider, more U-shaped snout, are mainly found in areas of the United States and China whereas crocodiles are found worldwide, and prefer a freshwater habitat while crocodiles prefer saltwater.
The Jellyfish has a mouth that both takes in food, excretes waste and expels jets of water to propel it forward in the water.
Meerkats are social creatures that live in groups from 20-50. There is an alpha couple who lead the group, with the other meerkats functioning as babysitters and watchguards.
The Quokka is a cat-sized marsupial related to wallabies and kangaroos. They live on islands off the Western Australian coast, and are famous for their #quokkaselfies.
The X-ray Tetra can be found in the Amazon and has translucent skin which allows their bones to be visible. One part of their bony structure is the Weberian apparatus which contributes to their sense of hearing.
