2017 The Second Keyboard2.jpg

The Lord has taught me so much through playing second keys at church, and I wanted to visualise the journey. Music is powerful, worship is powerful, and it is not all about words. God sees our heart; He hears the prayers we tell Him silently, and the ones we play out on our instrument. When I play the keyboard, whether or not I am singing, I imagine myself playing out praise to God, and declaring His light in the congregation and into the world. I can sing out praise and encouragement, but I can also play it out.

“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.
Sing to the Lord with the harp,
With the harp and the sound of a psalm,
With trumpets and the sound of a horn;
Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.”
[Psalm 98:4-6]

We can worship God in so many different ways –  at any time, in every place, with everything and with anything we have. So, let us submit our lives fully to Him, and give Him the glory in all that we do. Let us wield the weapon of worship, and see the world transformed by the kingdom of God.
